Every event we cater is designed around your vision, guest count, season, and service style. Our sample menus are meant to inspire conversationnot limit your options.

As a full-service caterer, we can coordinate all aspects of your event beyond food, including staffing, rentals, layout, logistics, and overall flow.


What is the process for planning an event?

Once you reach out, we’ll gather a few key details about your event and share initial information or sample menus. From there, we’ll guide you through the planning process and create a customized proposal based on your needs, preferences, and budget.


How far do you travel?

We serve events throughout Southwest Michigan, including Kalamazoo, Marshall, Battle Creek, Coldwater, and the Lakeshore.

Travel distance may affect staffing and delivery costs, which will be clearly outlined in your proposal.


What size events do you cater?

We cater everything from intimate gatherings of 20 guests to large-scale events with several hundred attendees.


When should I reserve my date?

As soon as you have a date in mind. Some events—especially weddings and peak-season weekends—book well in advance, and we reserve only one wedding per day to ensure focused attention and service.

A non-refundable Save the Date retainer secures your date and is applied toward your final balance.

Can you help me choose a venue?

Yes. We regularly work with many venues throughout the region and are happy to recommend locations that fit your event style and guest count.

Venue reservations are made directly by the client.


Can you arrange rentals such as tents, tables, or linens?

Absolutely. We work closely with trusted rental partners and can coordinate tents, tables, chairs, linens, lighting, and more. Rental costs and any required retainers will be outlined in your proposal.


Do you accommodate themed events?

Yes. From menu design to presentation and décor coordination, we help bring your theme to life in a way that feels cohesive and intentional.


Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Yes. We regularly accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other dietary needs. Our culinary team will work with you to ensure all guests are well cared for.


Do you provide wedding cakes or desserts?

We’re happy to recommend local bakeries or coordinate desserts as part of your catering plan.


Do you provide floral arrangements?

We can assist with floral coordination and work with local florists to source arrangements that fit your style and budget.


Do you provide entertainment or music?

We do not provide entertainment directly, but we’re happy to suggest trusted musicians, DJs, or other local vendors.


What beverage services do you offer?

Through our sister company, With A Twist Bar Services, we offer professional bar service for events large and small, including hosted bars and consumption-based bar service.

Our team will help you determine appropriate quantities, service style, and staffing needs for your event. All beverage service details will be clearly outlined in your proposal.


What is included in your proposal?

Your proposal will include estimated per-person food costs, service labor, rentals, and any additional services discussed. Final pricing may adjust based on confirmed guest counts and event details.


How are labor costs determined?

Service staff are billed hourly with minimums based on event type and duration. Labor estimates typically include travel time and setup requirements and will be clearly outlined in advance.


When is the final guest count due?

Final guaranteed guest counts are typically due 10 business days prior to your event. After that date, counts may increase (subject to availability), but cannot be reduced for billing purposes.


Do you carry liability insurance?

Yes. A Certificate of Liability Insurance can be provided upon request.


Do you require a deposit?

Yes. A non-refundable retainer is required to reserve your date. Additional payments and timelines will be outlined in your proposal. Corporate clients may qualify for alternative billing arrangements.


What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.

A platform fee applies to all online and/or credit card payments.

Pistachios Catering & Events is based in Kalamazoo, Michigan and serves Southwest Michigan and the Lakeshore.
